I've been thinking, and thinking... maybe a bit too much.

Why do people write books? If something you write turns out good, and you say to yourself, "Wow, how smart of me. That's amazing. I don't even know what I was thinking, but I wrote it, and it's great." But when even you who wrote it try to explain WHY it is so good, you are stumped. How can something just BE, and not BECAUSE? Seeking to "snare the rabbit" by telepathy would be like domestication. The rabbits don't need snares to be eaten. We would get lazy. Universal telepathy would cheapen individual thought. That's scary.

I think that (relating to my last post, the thing about closeness,) we all need to move ideas where we want them. That goal is what drives language. The snare that is around the idea effects how the idea is recieved.

In Portrait (Jame Joyce) there is a scene where breakfast is over, and the whole kitchen is a mess. However, through the language chosen, it sounds like a sugary, perfect landscape. I need to find that part and quote it for you.
