I need to mention a bit of House of Leaves, by Mark Z. Danielewski. Danielewski spends lots of time defining certain words, one of them "uncanny". By devoting so much time to the definition of this word, it's origins and true meaning, he recalls all of that definition each time he mentions it again in the book. He may only say it 3 or 4 more times, in the context of a normal, unrelated situation, but when he does, he recalls it all. "Uncanny" means "not at home," according to him.
