lol, I guess that's why most people recommend it as a weekend away! I guess it might be different if you spoke the language.

Most people spoke English. It may have been broken but good enough to relax.
There is a place near Venice (15 minutes maybe) a boatride away called Murano. They make glass stuff there. Everything is so cheap and beautiful. That would be the only reason I'd go back to Venice.
