When you get older, do these things just mean less to you? Do you chalk it up to having no life or youthful exuberance or just something you experience when you're "young"?

Pretty much. for me, anyhow. I mean, there are certainly things that excite me a little, but the energy to pursue most of them just isn't there. What I tend to do is get excited when a certain show is announced, but by the time it rolls around, I'm tired or disinterested in being in a large crowd of young, exuberant and often rude kids. There was significant drop in my ability to be schoolgirl-giddy about bands when I hit 30. Maybe earlier.
