update!
Temp agency I saw today was pretty awesome, way better than yesterday. I'm tempted to not work with the other agency at all, they don't really seem to care one way or another. Today's place remembers my sister, which is kind of odd as they worked with her 10 years ago. "You and Tricia look so much alike!" my rep squealed. They're very impressed ( Read more... ) -

So the "interview" went fine. They didn't have me take any tests or anything, they just walked me through my resume and asked what kind of work I didn't want to do, what kind of work I was open to, etc. They sent me an online take-home test on MS Office, hopefully I'll do okay with that. So I'm in Oak Park now. The drive to Chicago was long, about 13 hours or so, and 800 miles. I drove for some of it, and was only freaked out for the first hour or so. New expensive apartment decorating obsession: obtaining and collecting issues of Salut Les Copains from the 60's to frame. I especially want the ones with Mick Jagger and Francoise Hardy on the covers. Now someone give me a hundred bucks. So I'm moving around June 2nd instead of the weekend after next. I didn't fully realize that I was aiming to leave during Memorial Day weekend, which is the absolute worst traveling time ever, for both flying and driving. Oh shit, look at these Vynil wall decals. I think I just jizzed my interior design pants. They're like a one-up of the Blik wall decals. Although I just looked and oh shit, those are still awesome, too. I'd love the trees decal to go over a bed, like a headboard.
