HMM, Neil Gaiman had a great interview recently talking about how vampires have changed in our culture. Might be helpful!

AAHAHAHHHHAHAHA YOU ARE DOOMED. XD

How old-school are you talking? Like 30s or 60s/70s? If it's the latter, I CAN HELP YOU. ^___^ (Two words: Hammer Films.)

I was going as far back as Noferatu, but TELL ME ABOUT 60/70'S! I didn't even realize that era of vampires-in-film was so different.

Hissing, ridiculous fangs, buckets of blood when staked, dramatic burning and melting when exposed to sunlight, MASSIVE amounts of sex, lesbian vampires, Christopher Smeggin' Lee -- oh yeh. XD The Hammer vampire movies basically set the tone for vampires in film and literature up until Anne Rice and Lestat. Basically all the stereotypes one associates with vampires were dialed up to eleven at Hammer Studios. XD That's why Lestat was percieved as so revolutionary -- because he broke that mold, for the most part. Hammer vampires weren't moody or emo; they were LUST-CRAZED BEASTS. They're some of my favourite movies. XD You might wanna check 'em out. XD

I WASN'T PLANNING ON HAVING LESBIAN VAMPIRES BUT SURELY MY STORY CAN ACCOMIDATE FOR THAT <333333

Hopefully I can turn this into a novel, actually XD It'll be mostly a comedy story about a female vampire who is absolutely obsessed with being an amazing girlfriend to this human guy. I want to base they mythology and vampire behaviors a bit more on the old-school vampire films and stories, so no sparkling and vegetarian vampires this time around XD

Oh ambitious. I keep trying novels and they keep falling through. =_= Oh that sounds like a unique idea and haha I know you wouldn't use that. If you did the Twilight retards would come out, and the critics wouldn't be happy. It's amazing how inspiration that book is though, the first one, it went downhill as the series went on.

hey sexy seto
