Let's go to Mexico, drink margaritas in sin

This is me, desperately waiting for my Nano and my characters to come around and play nice with me.

People who are used to what I write would be HORRIFIED at how bad and wooden this Nano is so far.  The first thousand words (describing a vampire attack) is probably the only part people would recognize, the other six thousand words since then has ( Read more... )

*hugs* I hope the emotional curveball is something you can deal with. Let me know if you need to talk <33.

And I just want to say, you are so not alone. I was so upset by how today's writing was going I burst into tears and decided fuck it, this isn't worth it. Sometimes taking a break can help, especially if you find yourself drawn to repetitive fallbacks, like bad fashion sense. Sometimes you just have to keep writing to push through the block, because good writing is just around the corner if you can just regain that rhythm.

Have you tried using prompts? Sometimes running a passage around "what my character's favorite thing is" or the like can help unlock the character a bit. If anything else, it might give you something else to fall back on besides the bad fashion <3.

Thank you <3333 I'm trying to write the story about how they met, but it's so blocky and bad that I'm thinking of skipping it for now, and just writing whatever random shit that fancies me, at least until I get a handle on them again.

Maybe I need to grab a meme and fill that out tomorrow as my wordcount <3 I think what's hurting me the most is not knowing my chars well enough yet. Thank you for the suggestion.

Also LEAN ON MEEEEEEEEE. WHEN YOU'RE NOT STRONG. I'LL BE YOUR FRIEND, I'LL HELP YOU CARRY OOOOOOOOON.

We can do this <333

*hugs* I feel your pain. It always KILLS me when what's in my head is awesome, but when I try to put it out in words, it becomes drivel. I know you can so do it, though! <3

If you'd like, I'm all for doing more word races. That might at least help you get more text onto the screen that you can edit later. I'm not doing NaNo, but I have some other projects I can work on for my side of the race. <3

P.S. Your icon is so so awesome. XD

I THINK I MIGHT TAKE YOU UP ON THAT OFFER, GOOD SIR. I've been doing word races with Angie over the past two days and it's helped a great deal, and I know that when we've done it, I've ended up with way more written than I imagined I could do <3

I'm focusing on the words at the moment, really XD IF GOOD WRITING HAPPENS TO APPEAR ONE DAY, THEN THAT IS A BONUS!

I haven't written in so long and the last thing I had to write was a drabble on my most hated YGO pairing.

Aww you poor person. I deal with the same thing. I keep thinking my writing is total shit, that I'm not made to write.

did I ask this before, that I want the zip for your Yugi/Yami moodthem?

The second problem is that I've become such a perfectionist that I think it's honestly started to paralyze my ability to write.

I am so bad about this. It's really the biggest thing that's kept me from participating in NaNo - well, that, and my crippling fear of commitment. It's a tough obstacle to overcome. Good luck - I have every faith in you!

Believe me, I've already entertained thoughts of quitting Nano, but I have to stay strong for the sake of my Uggs <3 Plus, I've written so dreadfully little this year, and I keep on hearing Stephen King's voice in my head YOU AREN'T A WRITER IF YOU DON'T WRITE so I have an angry guy with a Boston accent in my head to help bring things forward.

Well, I'm part of a little writing group that is doing their own interpretations on Nano - I'm doing the classic 50K words goal, but some of them have art goals, or are just going to try to do one story per day no matter how small. Nano doesn't have to be a monster, if you ever wanted to reconsider and try it <3

Yes, well, he's about to go the way of Anne Rice if he's not careful with his editing.

Also, Boston? wtf? He's from Maine!
