Durr forgot that I wanted to do a Book Post too. The past two months have been utter fail in terms of reading, though I hope to catch up a little in December during my breaks at work/time spent stuck in the parking lot.

Book: The Twelve Kingdoms: The Vast Spread of The Seas
Author: Ono Fuyumi
Genre: Fantasy, action, adventure, badassery
Pages ( Read more... )

Gonna have to check out Rose Daughter, then, because Beauty didn't do much for me. All I could think was, "We do it so much better in Gesma!"

Do the Twelve Kingdoms novels get better after the first one? Someone got me the first couple as a gift and I was actually kinda disappointed by the first...the pacing just seemed really awkward to me. I liked the world, but it seemed like the book meandered a lot and then super-quickly wrapped everything up in the end.

In terms of pacing, the second two are better-paced (it helps a lot that the second two are shorter books, though). I didn't have a problem with the pacing of the first, personally, so who knows about my opinion XD

(THE ANIME IS ACTUALLY BETTER THAN THE BOOKS, AS SACRILIGIOUS AS THAT SOUNDS. GIVE THAT A TRY ZOMG)
