30 days of Video Games- Day 24, 25 & 26
Day 24 - Favorite classic game.
Legend of Zelda, Ocerina of Time. I was a fan of LoZ since Link to a Past, but this game just blew me away in so many ways. Suddenly you weren't just helping this little elf boy around. With a full world of sky above you and grass below, following Link you *were* the elf, shooting arrows, riding a horse and sword to sword combat. It changed the playing field for all games following, and set a high bar of excellence that made it a hard act to follow.
Day 25 - A game you plan on playing.
Okamiden! I've Pre-ordered for it's release in March and can't wait. While I admit I don't expect to quite live up to the original (a hard act to follow, particularly for a DS game on a series that was a breakthrough in graphics), if nothing else I expect this to be an enjoyable title. Plus, look at that puppy! CUTE!
Day 26 - Best voice acting.
I have to go with Jay Ward. He did Wolf O'Donnell and MetaKnight in Super Smash Bros Brawl, and both voices are incredibly memorable. MetaKnight has a straight-up "Fight Me" that leaves chills, and Wolf? His commentary scenes are good, and his Smash attack "Let's have some fun with this 'thang" is just this perfect drawl of space cowboy that actually adds to the character. Good times.
