Wow, I love this series exploring Tyra/Billy (Tyly? Bilra?). I've always wondered about the two of them...like if they had a moment pre-series. This fic satisfies that curiousity.

Well, damn. Looks like you've won me over to Tyra and ONE Riggins. (The other one ain't happenin'. No way.)

I love the voices in this series. You don't overdo the accents and you capture the sense of them both being caretakers and outsiders with dreams they're too cynical to keep dreaming.

And I wish Billy had come after her, too.

And I need some sort of FNL icon.

This is gorgeous...guh! I love how she defends her mother and how he tells her to go for her dreams.

And the kiss...you're making me really like these two! :)

Favorite parts:

"Oh, yeah, that's always great. I love it that people know I'm the town slut just 'cause I'm a Collette. That's a real selling point, thanks for remindin' me." She doesn't let stuff like that bother her anymore, but it's true, and they both know it. Dillon has already decided who and what she is. Dillon will wear her down just by assuming…all she has to do is hang around long enough to let it happen.

So sad, but true too...

"I got all the respect in the world for your mom. She stood by you and believe me, in my book, that counts for a lot. But she isn't you. That's all I'm sayin'. And it's not a good thing or a bad thing, but…" His voice softens. "You have dreams, Tyra. You're…you have all this heart, you know? Don't let this town take that from you." His expression is dark and full of regret and she knows it's him he's talking about, just as much as her.

Oh my, woman, just caught up with the fact that your first Tyra/Billy had sequels! And really getting into it. Loved the football game, and this is just perfect - right down to how absolutely wrong it is for those two to kiss...
