Out of Practice...

I am rusty. *sadface*

This is a horrible thing to realize when I'm writing fic for the first time in a million years, and I have so many IDEAS, and none of them are coming out the way they should - the way they used to. They are rough and clumsy and NOT RIGHT. And they're for yuletide, so I don't really have an option to just...you know, stop now. No, I have to either make them better, or rewrite them completely, or somehow get a brain transplant so they sound like I want them to.

Don't you love when I delurk to complain?

I started NaNo, but stopped last week around 30,000 I think. I got distracted by the shiny of yuletide and the words were...as you may have guessed...clumsy. Though the plot was actually doing fairly decent things - moving at a decent pace, going in more or less the right direction... I will finish it later. I mean it.

In other news, I have a RL fanficcer friend!! This is exciting, and a good part of why I'm getting back into it...I just wish I could...you know...WRITE. In a meaningful and sparse and lyrical way. I may have to start small. Drabbles. Post. Read. Think. Get on a roll.

I am watching:
Bones, Grimm, Haven, Castle, Sanctuary, Eureka, Chuck

Who's doing yuletide and/or NaNo? How is it going? Have you ever lost the ability to write, and what did you do to get it back?
