Yuletide Letter 2012

Sorry to get to this so late in the game, but I wanted to provide more general details in case it will help you.
In general, I just really appreciate that you're writing me something, so please take all of this as suggestions - go in whatever direction you're feeling - I know I'll love it in any case!!
I love all of these shows, and I'm pretty flexible on the things I love - it's actually more important to me that you write something you're in love with, than you writing something that I listed here, if it's not where your heart goes - I find that the best stories are those you're passionate about!
So, now, a quick summary of some of the things I love the very most...
I love the development of characters through relationships. I'm not fussy about rating - I like PWP, I like character monologues, and pretty much anything between.
I like angst, I love exploring the push and pull of 'I shouldn't, but i want to' in relationships. It can be anything - 'what will people think?' 'I'm not ready for a relationship.' 'I have too much to worry about right now.' 'I didn't even like him/her last week...'
That angst of not being sure is a plot device that always gets me.
I like roughness, as long as it's consensual. I don't mean spanking and stuff (though that's fine), I mean, pushing someone against a wall, or clothes tearing off - the 'I can't possibly resist you one more second' kind of roughness (if you're going for relationshipness).
I don't like weak female characters. Since none of the females (Sara, Maddie, Danni) that could potentially be in these stories are weak, I don't think that will be an issue, but I dislike seeing women characterized as one dimensional. As long as there's depth, I don't need them to be superheroes (well except Sara cuz she kind of is one...) - I enjoy looking at the way everyone's wounds feed into their lives and their mistakes and triumphs.
I asked mainly for single characters this year, because these people are completely fascinating to me. A lot of the comments above relate to relationships, but don't feel like I expect you to write a relationship if that isn't what you want to do. At it's most basic, what I hope for is insight - tell me or show me something I haven't seen/understood about these characters.
Across the board, male and female, I LOVE tortured characters. I want to see the things that bother them most, the things that make their worlds start to come apart at the seams. I want to see them struggle and hurt and I want to FEEL the things that make them just about give up the fight - and I want to know why they don't succumb.
Here are my requests as posted, with a few additional comments:
Witchblade (TV)
Gabriel Bowman
I love Gabriel a huge amount and I feel like he gets short shrift in the fandom. I'd love to see something that explores his character more fully, or something about him and Sara. It would be great to see them interact, or see the development of their relationship over time (romantic or otherwise). I'm a huge fan of angst, so unresolved would be fine if you don't want to get into any kind of graphic detail (though that would be fine, too)
I didn't request Sara, because I'm really not all that fussy about anything Gabriel-centric - it would be interesting to see how other characters interact with him, as well - does Irons hire him? Does Ian harass him? What about Jake or Danny?
If you wanted to just go for something character driven ,that would also be awesome! How did he get into the artifact biz? Is there a story behind one of his artifacts that never got told? What does he think about his life choices? Does he have regrets? There's so little about him out there, anything would be wonderful!
One of the episodes that stuck with me was the one where his friend supposedly committed suicide, and the Nietzsche quotes from the note, and the effect the whole thing had on him...I thought that was very powerful. So, as you can see...not kidding about the angst.

I love these characters! Every single one of them! I'd like to see the development of a relationship between Arkady and Danni - romantic would be awesome, but a deeper friendship would also be fantastic. Anything from case fic to a glimpse of a moment - something where they're relaxed together, or some serious UST, or a first time. Any rating would be fine.
I like the angst potential there - the pull of 'I shouldn't, but I WANT to'.
I want to add here that I like Sam as a character, but I prefer that this focus on Arkady and Danni. If you're a Sam/Arkady fan, that's totally cool with me, but maybe a conversation with Danni as friends? It could even be about the Sam/Arkady thing if you like.
I also love Alcina, and would be more than fine if she made an appearance. She's another of those strong female characters I love.

Jonathan is a fascinating character! I love him with Maddie and also with Adam - I'd just love to see something authentically him - awkward interaction with a touch of ego. Romantically, I could see him involved with either one of them.
Maybe something where he has to walk Adam through a trick that he has trouble getting?
Or maybe Maddie is nagging him about a case, or taking a step in their relationship, or what if she takes him out on a date, but he doesn't realize it's a date until they're already out?
Or you can just concentrate on Jonathan and provide some kind of insight or background, or a case he works on solo?
I love that Jonathan is so completely human and flawed, even as brilliant as he is. He's like Sherlock, but much more awkward, and I love that. I love the dichotomy of the brilliance and the bumbling moments... I wish I had more to give you on what I love, here...but I just love Jonathan...
Oh, I wasn't crazy about his second partner. I prefer him with Maddie or Adam, or on his own.
