The kiln load is in that indeterminate state. Firing finished, but too hot to open. At this point, it's all potential and the act of opening the kiln fixes the outcome: good firing or bad one; runny glazes or just right; cracked or whole pieces. It's a time of hope and trepidation ( Read more... )

Don't call it Schroedinger's. If you put a cat in that thing, it would definitely die, invalidating the indeterminacy of the procedure.

Perspective is messing with me. The two at 5 and 5:30 look upside down or inverted in LJ to me, right now.
