The fun never ends

Josh has an ear infection, which I may have mentioned before. He's not liking taking Amoxicillin for it. We tried the chewables, he won't take them. Then the liquid. He's hot and cold with it, but says he hates the taste. A couple of times it's been WW3 trying to get him to take it. This morning was another bout of fighting, screaming, ( Read more... )

I think I have an ear infection too...my ear has been RINGING for two days. Quite unpleasant. If this is what tinnitus is like 24/7, I'd kill myself. And my doctor's office isn't picking up the phone. Thanks for that. If it's an ear infection, can't they give him antibiotic ear drops? They usually prescribe localized antibiotics for ear and eye infections, especially for children. And it might work out better, since he doesn't like kind you ingest.

My mom swears by Resolve carpet cleaner, the granular kind that comes with a brush that grinds it into the carpet. I think she gets it at BJ's. The rug in her house looks like it's brand new, but it's about 30 years old.

I used to use that stuff...I may even have some. I'll have to look!

Thanks!

Hope you're feeling better soon!!!!

I called his Dr again this morning and told the Dr that he won't take chewables and the liquid isn't much better. He suggested putting it in milk or juice, so I'll have to try that tonight and hope for the best! I know you're not supposed to stop a course of anti-biotic, but I can't do this for 5 more days!!! Keep your fingers crossed that putting it in milk will do the trick!

I finally got a hold of my doctor, so I have an appointment for tomorrow. PS--An ambulance just went by the window and I thought my eardrum might explode. Beat! But at least it reminded me to try the doc again.

My mom used to stick everything in apple sauce...it's solid enough to hide a pill, but slippery enough to mask anything on the way down! Maybe you could crush a chewable into appy-dappy (as my mom STILL calls it--I'm the youngest, by the way!) or something of a similar consistancy--like puddin' or yogurt?

That would be fine, if my finicky son ate any of those! LOL
If I could get it into a chicken nugget, we'd be in business!

HAHAHA Appy-dappy! Love it!
