six weeks? seriously?

So, NaNoWriMo is suddenly only about six weeks away, which rather caught me by surprise.

We'd hoped to hand over the mantle and responsibility of Municipal Liaison to someone else this year, because moose_biscuit and I have run the region for two years now, but no one seems willing, so it looks like we either do it again or let the region fall apart. We'll ( Read more... )

I actually really like the sound of the last one - and silly isn't a bad thing! It has the potential to be quite metafictional and interesting. So long as you don't make the analogues too close to the inspiration... :D

Most of the fantasy larps have enough similarities to each other that I think I could make up a loose game setting that wasn't too obviously based on Maelstrom.

And there would be lots of meta.

The challenge would be writing something that has enough larpiness to make the characters feel like real larpers, but not so much that the non-larp reader has no idea what the hell is going on.

The concept does appeal. I have the rough outline of my 'party' planned, complete with real life larpers to inspire some of them, but what I don't have is a plot or even a villain.

I have to agree - I really like the idea of the last one, it has the potential to be really entertaining. Please don't rule it out! That's the one I would choose to buy and read if I was in a bookshop :)
