to add to the electronic woes, in the middle of a rush to meet a deadline, they decided that yesterday was a good day to replace my work 'puter.
The 'puter they gave me required me to waste two hours for me to install all of the tools, drivers, and utilities I need to do my job.
After that, finally getting back to work, I discovered that they had screwed up the Microsoft Office install they had done before giving me the 'puter, thus making it impossible for me to open the various documents I need for the project.
So, they gave me ANOTHER new 'puter.
Two more hours to set up (just finished round two this morning).
Everything is now working except....
My email client for some unknown reason won't connect to the server.
Aparently the computer gods want to deny me the simple pleasure of inboxes. Not to mention the more important neccessity of meeting my deadline.
jeez, sounds like you had one hell of a day...why would a company, in the middle of a rush or deadline, think it's smart to pull away your means of getting the work done? you would think that they could wait just a little bit longer then go in and cause an uproar.
maybe not having an inbox is a blessing in disguise :-)
but it would drive me crazy also...i live in my email
I slept until almost 2 PM at TJ's house. He left for work before 9, but I stayed and slept in. It was so nice. :)
Then I came home aaaaand... well that's it so far. I checked stuff online for school, but I'm not getting any answers. Apparently I have to go in to find out, because they aren't taking anymore mores calls (Crazy!). But I'll be there on Saturday, so that's fine I guess. Just will probably be late for work.
Am hoping to see TJ tonight, but I have to be at work by 10 tomorrow. Can't really drive to his place again either, because my car CHUGS gas like nothing else. Boooo on muscle cars!!!!
So here I sit wasting time. I should go make my knitting needle holder, or just knit. ♥
