Kiernan,

Everthorne is I'm still ali I want

Kie Kishan,

Really, how did you expect me to summarize it all in one letter? You know how I go on. The literature professor adores me; the politics professor grudgingly respects me. Did you know that fool Covins is teaching here? Tennis, of course, and I'm sure you knew. You know how I dislike him, and you purposefully didn't tell me. Don't laugh. And stop grinning like an idiot.

I'd ask how Mother is, but I doubt you know any better than I. Lyall and Faelan are making nuisances of themselves, I'm sure. If there are any toothmarks on my books, their heads will go up on my wall, so help me. Perhaps dogs aren't the most illustrious of hunts, but better than nothing.

To keep you from asking in your next letter: no, I have not made any friends. I'm not likely to, as I told you before I ever left: as I thought, my fellow classmates are vapid, shallow. Yes, I realize they're nineteen. No, I am not forty, nor am I acting it. Stop laughing, damn you.

Do I want to go home? Mm. If I said yes, I know you: you would battle countless mages with nothing save an indomitable spirit and a bent racket, pluck me out like a princess from a castle. If I said yes, I'd be lying. Let us say I'm somewhere in between, both in and out of the water. Drifting. In other words, the same as usual.

Yours,
Caspian

PS: If you mention the nickname, I will maim you upon my return. I can hardly be blamed for wanting some childhood comfort. Perhaps I would like to be eleven again, delighted I found a synonym for your name - or eight, even. Eight, and running up and down the mansion's stairs.

If you even hint at this postscript, I'll aim for your serving arm.

Mn. For those who are struggling with politics, history, literature... the academics, really, I'm available to help. I've rather a lot of experience with all three, and I'm afraid my opinion on Mister Yoren's teaching skills has rather dropped.
