I really want to leave a comment but I'm worried you'll be offended if I admit that enjoyed this as the most hilarious thing.
Beautifully described: the lipstick, the mask, the swoop of Mary's red dress, but I had my knuckles stuffed in my mouth and my bunny-before-headlights eyes on, wondering what next you were going to pull out of the bag.
Favourite line:
Sherlock’s life dangles ever more precariously over the cliff face of John’s temper.
Well gosh golly, it's a good thing I got on the internet this morning or I would've gone two whole weeks without seeing this. I lick your face in fond greeting, woof.
Offended? No. This whole thing was written as an excuse to get Mycroft in a dress and have John turn up the flirt to twelve and a half. But mostly to get Mycroft in drag. Actually, entirely just to get Mycroft in drag. *spins away into imaginations of prettyprettyprincess!Mycroft* (And to make with the John/Mycroft, but considering it's me, that's pretty well implied.)
Teehee. That was one of my favorite lines, too. Something, something, bull pup, blah, Katie Forsythe, quick temper, blah, which serves as part of the foundation that I write John+Sherlock buddyship from. AKA, John can be just as bad as Sherlock but in his own Watsonly way.
I agree that Watson can be as bad as Sherlock. He's got quite a grump on him. He's more independent than Sherlock in his way. He has to be, or else he wouldn't do well as Sherlock's flatmate.
Crikey, two weeks! I'm sending you a message, I'd better hurry.

Gatiss is a thing of beauty, that's a given. Even when he was Valerie Denton.
John Watson would make a stone melt.
Implausible but none-the-less-lovely-for-it fic.
