Hello Mr Reznor, care to be bitched out?

:::post update disclaimer:: no offense intended... I like what TR's done so far, don't get me wrong, and I don't mean to piss off anyone, this is just all my initial opinions/thoughts on the matter. And yeah, I know I'm fitting into that whole "you suck NIN hater" category, but seriously, as if. Like I could stop liking NIN *rolls eyes*

:laughs:, okay, this is not going to make much sense, but I am in a good mood, and I'm sorta on another damn insomnia trip (fuck I missed 'em) and etc. etc. "this could be the Gatorade talking" blah, blah, "through Tool's music Maynard has posessed me to bitch out Mr Trent and point out strange hypocrisys, fuck you for not listening to Passive, you Tapeworm hater" blahblah.

Okay, so. it seems as if it's settled-- nin wont die because trent has the ability to reinvent himself and faithful, eclectic followers who love him so devoutly and will do...[place undignifying task in the name of rezzo here].

BUT, it seems as if everything that ever made nin is getting turned upside down-- the music, is, very much so different from PHM, TDS, TPD (for this matter only, and the sake of acronyms), TF, and ugh, Deep. But all of those are really different from each other anyway.

So.

He gave up cover art. "Fuck it" were the words. As much as I agree here, I'm in it for the music not the presentation (though you'll never catch me complaining about Viola's-Richter/Stern stuff during TF/AATCHB (live), I really thought that was one of the distinctions between NIN and some other shitty bands, wont name any, not worth arguing over, as I have done previously yet to no avail.

And though some may disagree-- NIN has had some pretty cool videos. I'd name all of them, but what's the point.. I have a strong fondness for all of them. And he's also giving up on this... Not that THTF video wasn't cool, the point was made/brought, and I respect that. I'm sure he's sick of getting all prepped up for the videos and such... but they were just another defining point, I think. As it stands, I've yet to not be fascinated by a NIN video, and often I find it "sets the mood" of the album. So maybe I am being hypocritical in my words, maybe this is the mood.

However, let me continue my err complaining here: THAT was the video? I'm not so much dissapointed as shocked-- With all the.. power (and not in a negative way) this guy has, the ability to influence the masses, take people from retardedness to ugh, sorry Bill, for stealing this, but 'squeeging the third eye'.... I mean, is he bored with changing peoples lives? I know that... that's not what the music is about, but I know a lot of NIN has affected your life as it has mine. And this goes beyond videos at this point, because well, Closer didn't exactly change my life in such a phenomal way (as like, maybe hearing Hurt for the first time did). So it did nothing but amuse me for a few minutes-- it's still a great, memorable fucking video.

You know, it's cool he's trying something new... I totally respect that... but whatever happened to standing out among the crowd? Maybe he doesn't want that anymore, maybe. Maybe the music will do it for itself (as if none of the other albums have).

heres to trying to salvage the faith that was left behind after the easter bunny, God, and santa were proven unrealistic fairy tales to pascify the masses (no offense anyone <3),

Shee..shee...Kay.
