Also, apparently in Spain it's okay to move someone else into your apartment the day you said you'd be leaving, regardless of if you're actually ready to leave. Is it the same in other countries? So I said to my mom, Let me pop the bottom off first and make sure it's not a simple mechanical problem with the switch. A few web searches, one technical/repair manual, and six hours of labor later and I've got a camera that is no longer stuck in slef-timer mode.
