I went from ultra-modern--bright blue and silver walls, van Gogh prints, geometric bedspread--to this. I've finally reached a point where my personality and tastes have stabilized.
Although I still like my modern stuff. I have a feeling my house will vary from room to room...
The other design sounds more fun to me but you have to remember that I've lived in rented places for the last few years and have had white walls in almost all of them. I'd do almost anything now for some colour.
Then I'll fail at it by having pinstripes in my next place ;)
*still grumpy this morning because she had a weird dream about her ex-husband last night*
It was fun, but I painted it myself, which translates into me getting tired of it after two walls and doing a crappy job. Also, it was the wrong can of paint (which I kept telling my mother, but she wouldn't listen), so it was a blue-blue rather than a happy, turqoise-y blue.
I do miss my van Goghs. I had Starry Night, Sunflowers, a giant Cafe at Arles at Night, and then a long one that had all of the star series on it.
And I've never had anything but color--my first room was Pepto-Bismol pink, which I then painted my bright blue. The one here was neutral, blue with sponged silver, and now that suede (it's textured). I think it's just time for me to be calm and subdued. :)
Wooow, that is beautiful! With all that dark wood and the lamps and the wallpaper <3 I love it! And that Shakespeare line on the wall gives it all an extra touch :D
Thanks! It's taken a lot of work, but I really love it. Most of the stuff we've randomly found: Mum got the lamps, the pictures over the bed came from an antique sale, and the Shakespeare quot is actually a rub-on decal! :)
Paint is a good thing--you can do a lot with paint. :)
