I was so bummed that I couldn't participate in the Livejournal tradition of posting the first entry from every month of the year at the end of said year, because I stopped posting here back in August. So to make up for it, I decided to make a cameo appearance here and post a few photos that sum up 2008 for me.
Brendan, Greg, and myself on New Years Eve 2007/08. We went to a house party at our friend Mike's place in Vancouver.
Greg and myself at the New Years party.
Snow tubing on Mount Seymour, January 3rd 2008. We went twice that month.
Greg and me snow tubing.
Then in early February, it snowed down here in the Valley, too!
Greg and I spent a week house sitting in White Rock in February as well. This is Scout, their awesome dog. We were buds.
They also had a super rad hot tub.
... And a super rad Jeep, that we took off-roading. We had permission, don't worry!
They also allowed us to have some friends over, so I invited these lovely ladies (Marissa and KC), along with Matt and Natalia.
Hungover breakfast the next day.
Later in February, I celebrated my 19th birthday. This is my "all-ages" birthday party, where my underage friends could still celebrate! We went bowling and then had dinner at the Spaghetti Factory in Richmond.
My friends at the Spaghetti Factory.
My parents also took me out for dinner at a fancy Italian restaurant in New West for my birthday. This is me getting ready.
My sister Lindsay and me, at my birthday dinner.
I had ANOTHER birthday party after that, at the bar with my work friends. We all went to Jersey Joe's for drinks earlier on, then the younger crowd moved on to Tommy's, which is a sleazy small-town night club - I got trashed and threw up all over our front porch. This is me with Adele (in purple) and Alex (in black) from work.
A self portrait of myself in March. I finally got up the guts to start learning to drive, after having my learners license for two years! I took my road test shortly after that and passed.
Me in March, the day my braces were taken off after four long years.
In April I bought my fisheye lens, the Sigma 10mm f/2.8, that I'd been saving up for.
Greg and me in Steveston the day we went to the airport to pick up my lens. Greg hates this photo but I love it.
In April my dear sister had an art show for her photography. So proud of her! This is Lindsay and me at the art show, with my dad being creepy behind us.
Much fun was had with my fisheye that month. I also got a new cut and colour, as you can see here!
In May, KC had her 19th birthday. We went to Red Robin and gathered at her place for drinks & merry, along with several of her other friends.
Also in May, I moved my horse Sugar to the barn where she still lives today. Isn't it lovely? Darlene, the owner of the property, takes amazing care of her for me.
May - as well as March and April - were filled with many nights out, being newly legal! This is me with one of my best friends Andy and his mom Carol, drunk-snacking after an evening at the bar.
May was also filled with many drunken bonfires at Triangle Beach in Richmond.
These drunken bonfires were the birthplace of the friendship with my close ladyfriend Sarah. We met on Halloween 2007 and instantly hit it off, but never spent much time together until the spring.
In June, Marissa had her 19th birthday. This is Greg, Chanel, KC, and Marissa at the Foundation for the occasion.
Sexy ladies! Me, Marissa, and KC at the Blarney Stone after dinner on Marissa's 19th.
Sugar and me on a trailride in June. We hit the trails a lot that summer, since they are so close to our new barn.
In June, Greg and I went on an indescribably wonderful camping trip to Hozomeen, Washington (USA) - also known as Ross Lake.
We LOVE camping.
Exploring the area around Ross Lake on our camping trip.
July can only be described as "drunken mayhem". Me, Andy, and Greg after one of Mike's band's shows.
In July, Greg and I returned to Ross Lake for another amazing camping trip. Looking at these photos makes my heart hurt, I miss that place so freaking much.
On Ross Lake during our July trip.
Greg and I drunk and probably suffering from heat stroke on our camping trip.
The water was lovely there. Note to self - get back into this bikini shape for summer!
One last photo from our July Ross Lake trip.
August! Sarah's 20th birthday. From left - Shae, Sarah, Jaclyn, Laura, me.
Sarah's birthday again. From left - Greg, me, Laura, Brendan, Sarah, Jaclyn, Shae.

In August, Greg and I celebrate our two year anniversary. <3
September was an absolutely beautiful, warm and sunny month. Greg and I went on a lot of mini road trips, exploring this wonderful area that we live in. This is at Chilliwack Lake.
This was taken on the same day as the above photo, at the Othello Tunnels in Hope.
October! Lindsay's 27th birthday.
October again. Me (in the middle with a pink short sleeved shirt and grey tank, brown hair and straight bangs) with a bunch of our friends at Pub 340 - one of Mike's shows again.
On the set of the movie "Watchmen" in Burnaby in October. One of the coolest experiences of 2008.
In October, Greg and I saw Gogol Bordello live at the Commodore. Greatest show EVER. Here we are sweaty and exhausted on the bus after dancing for a good 4 hours.
Halloween 2008. GONGSHOW! This was Halloween party #1. I was Holly Golightly (from Breakfast at Tiffany's) and Greg was a mafia don.
Me and Andy (aka Ace Ventura) on Halloween.
Crazy night. I will never doubt the insanity of myself and my friends ever again. From left - Sarah, Andy, Fitzy, Greg, and myself.
A very drunk Holly Golightly and equally drunk Link.
The next night we went to another Halloween party at Sarah's house. I dressed up as Greg, in his clothes, shoes, etc. - LOL. This is me with Jaclyn.
Me as Greg on Halloween.
The boys had a great time taking advantage of my night being a guy.
In November, I dyed my hair VERY red.
Me showing my support for Obama in November.
In December, we spent four days at Sarah's parents' condo in Whistler. It was an amazing time, if not a little claustrophobic, stayed in a condo with ten people. This is Sarah, Andy and myself at the condo.
Shennanigans at the condo. Kurt, Greg, Fitz and Sarah.
Brendan and Fitz with the "beeramid" in Whistler.

Celebrating Greg's 22nd birthday at White Spot that same night.
Mike and me at Karina's 90s-themed birthday party in December.
So painfully 90s! Greg and me.
Me on Christmas Eve in my new PJs.
Our living room and Christmas tree on Christmas Eve.
On Christmas Day, I got to fulfill one of my longtime dreams of riding Sugar in the snow.
I got some amazing pictures of her in the snow that day. I will cherish them forever!
Lindsay and Nigel on Christmas morning.
And again, all dressed up for Christmas dinner.
Me and Greg at Christmas dinner.
My Christmas dinner plate, complete with tofurky. I stopped eating meat in April 2008 and haven't had any since.
There was SO much snow during the Christmas holidays. This is me out playing in it.
And finally ... New Years Eve 2008/2009. From left - Greg, myself, Kim, Andy.
Final photo of 2008. Me with my favourite boys, Andy and Greg.
Looking back at 2008 in photos has been an eye-opening experience. I thought 2008 had been a dud of a year - but it really was an amazing twelve months! Full of friends, fun, good times, adventures, and learning experiences. Thanks for looking!
