belated honeymoon planning
Since I couldn't take much time off in October right after the wedding (six months tomorrow! CRAZY!), we're taking a belated honeymoon this August and have just finished booking all of our accomodations. I CAN'T WAIT!!!
Here's the itinerary:
Monday Aug 2:
leave Boston & fly to London (layover in Reykjavik - hopefully the volcano is done erupting by then...)
Arrive Tues Aug 3 in London
Aug 3-8 London with brother-in-law & co.
Aug 9: fly to Florence!
Aug 9-13: Stay in Florence here
Somewhere in there we'll be taking a cooking class that hasn't officially been scheduled yet but we're waiting to hear back which day(s) have availability. Can't wait!
Aug 13-15: Stay here in San Gimignano. Somewhere in there take a short bus ride to spend some time in Siena as well.
Aug 15-17: Stay here overlooking the Grand Canal in Venice! Somewhere in there take a boat out to Murano to see the glassmakers work!
Aug 17-19
2 nights here in Turin. Most definitely check out the chocopass!
Aug 19-20
One night in Milan so we can take a tour to see The Last Supper. (we're not as interested in the rest of Milan, which is more about modern fashion than medieval or ancient culture)
Aug 20-23
Spend last few days in Italy here in Varenna on the shores of Lake Como - time to relax and just enjoy being someplace beautiful before going home.
Aug 23: short train ride back to Milan and a late flight home (also through Reykjavik, this time with an 8-hour layover, which is long enough to go do something cool - if anything is open - anyone know if there's anything to do in Reykjavik between the hours of 2AM and 10AM?)
