I've just looked at my page and realized that I've only written one post since last year's best-of entry, and that was also about books. Guess it's hard to find the energy for long updates about my life these days. So, um, I'm conflicted about that one. On the one hand, yes, at times hysterically funny. On the other hand, ouch, it was written before Heyer learned to minimize her rakes' rakishness, so there're some deeply problematic tropes embedded in the relationship between the main couple.

Which is my way of saying, I hope you enjoy it, but if you bounce off it don't give up! Just do not, do NOT, read its sequel, Devil's Cub. ;)
