In one of my classes for college I have to write a paper about religious beliefs and their impact in the government, and I need some help from those of you who are American, and those who are not.

For the Americans: Do you think American laws are/aren’t beneficial to Christian beliefs? Are American laws helpful/harmful to non-Christian faiths?

For people from all other nations: What are the normal beliefs about Americans in your nation [lazy, creative, greedy, etc…]? Also if you would tell me what nation you are from that would be helpful.I'm from Sweden. Hmm... I have many American friends, and I know they're not like what I'll say, but if I have to speak in general ( ... )

Very very helpful, thank you. Seeing as how you brought um MLK I wanted to ask another question if you don't mind.

We have had some great people like MLK, Kennedy, and O'Hara who have changed the nation. However has the US made an impact on everyday life, and laws of your nation? I am not only talking about things such as IPod/Apple, Microsoft, I am talking about views as well.

Also are people taught that we are a type of utopia that has not troubles within?

Thank you very much for the help. I hope you don’t think I am trying to make people think America is better than everyone else. Because HONESTLY I don’t think we are that great. This is simply an assignment.

Would it be possible to ask you some more questions through the semester?

I am not only talking about things such as IPod/Apple, Microsoft, I am talking about views as well.- Well, most of the news stuff we see on TV over here are either from the US or one of the big news bureaus in Europe. So what we see are very much controlled by the US and France/GB (??). We are bombarded by american movies and tv-shows.. Showing us "the american way". And a lot of the beauty ideals comes from American TV (and Swedish TV of course... but we are influensed by the US... and the beauty ideal of the west ( ... )

We are not all like this. There are a lot of us who do not agree with or support the things our country has done over the past eleven years or more. Unfortunately, a good portion of Americans seem to have lost their minds. Way back in the early nineties, the religious right began a campaign to insert themselves into government, and because most Americans are too lazy to vote or just don't care or think it matters, they succeeded. They now pretty much control the dialogue in this country, and almost all of the media. When Clinton won, the Republicans pretty much said they were going to do everything possible to derail his Presidency, like they are trying to do to Obama now. It's not about what's best for their country, it's about what's best for their net worth and hate-filled agenda ( ... )
