Banning Books

Are you sure this is America?  Sometimes I feel as though I should be saying ‘Heil Hitler’ not I am an American.

Burning books is no longer expectable - now we ban them.  I hate this country sometimes.

Good grief. Who is banning books? Our country has been co-opted by idiots. It is very sad. I sign all the 'please do something sensible now' petitions, but it doesn't really make me feel any better.

I've been hearing about that book a lot lately. It's really popular, apparently. I never watched CSI New York, because in the first episode they very graphically showed how to kill someone. This is acceptable. Sex is not. In any medium. Our Puritan ancestors' prudishness and idiocy (yes, I think they were idiots) are alive and well in certain factions of our society. Intelligent, rational people who are capable of critical thinking need to take a stand against them. The part I really have trouble with is that they don't seem to understand that they are attempting to construct a country that is really no different from the Taliban and Iran, except in the name of the religion they use to oppress and destroy others. It makes my blood boil.
