They really took Zack being dumb over the top. I'm glad it looks like they swept Penny getting married under the rug. :( The Sheldon and Mike scenes where the highlights I thought.

The Mike and Sheldon bonding over football was funny I figured Sheldon was channeling his dad during most of their scenes.
The whole Penny accidentally getting married was too stupid for words- it's really not even possible. Not to mention you CAN have a faux wedding in Vegas so how could everyone be so sure it was real. Ridiculous.

This whole episode seems overloaded with stupid. Are these not November sweeps? TPTB cannot do better than this?

Sadly, a lot of their audience seem to have really low expectations. If you get ratings regardless of the quality of the product there is no incentive to change- especially if you have never been particularly inventive to begin with.

This episode just made me want to see Sheldon and Penny watching a game together. I'm sure Penny would have a marvelous time. No whiny-butt Leonard for once. And Zack just said what we've been dying to say to Leonard all this time: "I’m not sure you’re the kind of guy I want to see dating Penny." His character is so badly written, though. I think my head hurt with all that ridiculousness.

I know I was thinking about that earlier. If Penny hadn't been caught up in the faux wedding nonsense she would have been right there with Mike and Sheldon watching the game. I think Penny would have been impressed with his knowledge of the game(unlike Leonard and football).

That would have been awesome! *sigh* Another potential Shenny moment wasted 'coz pointless, stupid situations are in the way. -_-"

If Penny knew about Shelly's knowledge of football, I'm sure she'd be making him her football game watching buddy or something. Another reason for them to spend time together.

I'm surprised someone as dull as Zack was able to notice that even Leonard, who's a nerd instead of a muscle bound jock, still wouldn't be a good enough choice for Penny. So we have that, Sheldon constantly reminding them how pointless their relationship is, Penny saying how boring their relationship is, Leonard saying that the only she does for him is give him nothing but sex, and then Proton asking them what in the hell do they talk about in their spare time. And then they try to block out the fact that even though they're constantly screwing each other Penny having a box full of memories of him makes up all of that. Give me a break. There's way more to making a relationship healthy and compromising besides just romance you know.

So... If this blind gossip item is to be believed, the show is going to take an awful turn very, very soon:

http://blindgossip.com/?p=58112

She is one of the stars of a very popular television series. She has also been the subject of at least one Blind Gossip item this year because she was participating in a PR-generated relationship with another actor ( ... )

Yeah I have heard that rumor a couple of different places. Of course even if she is pregnant it doesn't mean they will necessarily use it in the show. Shows work around pregnancies without incorporating them in the storyline all the time(eg Allison Hannigon in HIMYM in 2009). In fact I think I have read a couple people associated with the show say there are no plans for any kids on the show in the near future because they know a kid would really be a shark jumping moment.

I've read about things like that, too, which is certainly reassuring -- but I feel like we've been burned before with similar statements about certain things "not ever" happening, so I keep going back and forth about whether I should be worried. :/

Good reminder about Alyson Hannigan on HIMYM. I believe Cobie Smulders was also pregnant during one season and they worked around that as well. Let's hope that the showrunners choose to do something similar here, if it's true. It certainly would be a shark-jumping moment otherwise.

There are plenty of examples. I think Julia-Louis was pregnant like 3 times when she was on Seinfeld, Tina Fey on 30 Rock, and a whole lot more. I know not to trust tptb on things they say, but I think they do pay attention to their bottom line and what the think will affect it.

So, there is no taping report for 7.8 and 7.7? Or did I miss some posts?

Itchy Brain is 7x8. The person that went to 7x09 wrote up the episode(I guess they show the previous taped episode at the new taping). They apparently have really cracked down on people attending multiple tapings so it's hard to know if there will be a report from week to week.

Ok, I don't know about 7.9 but I found 7.8 really interesting and the OUTOFHISLEAGUE made me both cry in laughter and extreme sadness.

And the seven year old thing with Sheldon and Leonard is beyond creepy. This is villain material right here. I don't know if I should laugh or something else.
