Okay, so now we're reduced to "Penny's so dumb, . . ." jokes, to go with the "Howard's mom is so fat, . . ." jokes?

Really?!?

Wasn't she the one with the real world knowledge and experience in earlier seasons, in contrast and complement to the guys' scientific/academic knowledge? So how come she's now supposed to be functioning so close to the level of Zack (who thought that a laser shot at the moon might blow it up, which Penny knew was a stupid fear) that she didn't know that Vegas marriage chapels perform legal marriages? In fact, didn't she mention getting married in Vegas as an option when Howard and Bernadette were trying to figure out how to get their service performed before Howard's space mission?

*sounds of disgust and frustration too deep for words*Okay, now that THAT's off my chest, I can say that my heart was strangely warmed by Sheldon's bonding over football with Bernadette's father (in spite of all the misogyny and Howard-scorning that seemed to go with that bonding), giving him the chance to bond as an adult ( ... )

Why did they have to put that stupid A plot in there. Just so they could have an excuse to get Zack on? There are so many things wrong with this. One, Penny talks about knowing several couples who got married in Vegas(I assume she attended some of the weddings) during the season 5 finale when Howard and Bernadette got married. Two, this sort of thing falls right into her wheelhouse(not to mention you CAN get fake married in Vegas and you still need a license from city hall). She not only talks about people getting married in Vegas she is the one who comes up with the idea of someone getting licensed to perform H/B' s wedding. Ugh!!

So true gamma. All of the examples you pointed to show how completely implausible the Vegas wedding storyline actually was. I hate how the writers have made Penny a completely blond bimbo. The only thing that can possibly save this storyline, and ultimately redeem Penny's character, would be to do as you suggested in the spoiler thread - make the wedding an actual fake marriage. I would love to see Penny, in a continuing episode, send off the annulment papers only to hear back from the state of Nevada that they have no record of her ever filling for a marriage license. Penny said she got married as a goof, and by an Elvis impersonator no less. Why not have her be proven correct after all in the end? I am getting so tired of her so-called friends constantly berating her and making her feel stupid. I would love for her to actually have the last laugh for once at their expense instead of the other way around.

I'd like to congratulate Penny on becoming the new Chrissy Snow. :( I though Mike and Sheldon bonding was great! I wonder if Mike rather have Sheldon for a Son-In-Law? I thought Howard came off too whiney. Raj was funny especially when he said he did not know what Penny saw in Leonard. :) I've had enough of the Slave and fat jokes with this show. :( I like Zack but he was just too over the top dumb.

It breaks my heart as well my friend, just picturing Sheldon and Amy all bare naked together in bed is more of a disturbing image than Penny and Leonard together at the chapel, at least IMO. We all know its coming and frankly I just want them to get it over with already cause they're killing us non-canons very slowly with it ( ... )

Ok, I know you guys are just trying to prepare me for, potentially, the inevitable but I would rather see Sheldon marry his vacuum cleaner than end up with Amy. Come to think of it, I have seen that idea somewhere before....

(I defy anyone to tell me that video is not hotter than any Shamy endgame scenario).

And one more person I have to ask to back off. While this isn't out-and-out character bashing, it's getting very close to it. (We're even insulting Penny now? In a Sheldon and Penny community? IDK, guys, I'm just not cool with that.)

So just back off a little and it's cool. Please.

Wow who even are Sheldon and Penny anymore? Penny is that dumb that she doesn't realize that you get married for real in Las Vegas? Sheldon getting drunk and slapping Amy on the ass? Although, I won't lie her desire for Sheldon to have physical contact with her amuses me. Raj was adorable it's great he can talk with the girls now. Oh and those fat jokes just kept on coming reminded me of Married with Children and Peggy's mom.

I enjoyed this show more than most I've seen this season (or the last couple of seasons), and that despite the problems with it ( ... )

As someone else noted, the two couples don't actually seem to be happy together. Oh, we're told they're happy, but that's not what we see.

I think that's what the episode title was referencing to instead of Penny and that guy signing the annulment papers.

... I don't believe Sheldon was enjoying watching the game any more than Howard was--but the difference is that he not only understands it, but he doesn't signal his contempt for the very idea of watching the game with his every utterance and gesture.

Very well said! :)
