Happy Saturnalia, Paradox! Since this year is a little different from previous years, we wanted to let you know how we'll be doing things

Hello,
I'll risk looking ignorant and ask: why this year is different from previous years? Is it related to the notion of "last hurrah" I saw in a few comments/fics? I loath the thought that there are some plans to just stop :-(

This year is the last Saturnalia. Each year, we've seen a dwindling number of participants. If we had left this Saturnalia as it was, it probably would've had 8 or fewer. Next year, there might not have been enough to run it at all. This way, the exchange ends on a high note.

This isn't to say someone else can't run a holiday exchange in the future, just that this will be the last sponsored and hosted here.

Well, can't say it is completely unexpected, but for the long time Paradox was the place to go for the fix of right after the dose of wrong in the show itself. It is really sad to think about future lacking the excitement of this community events :-( (Even if the creators of the show tries very hard to kill the attractive qualities of it for many people who've been watching it from the start).
Anyway thank you all for your time and work for managing all this events and community through years!

Yeah, fandom as a whole has mostly migrated to Tumblr/Twitter, which has really hurt communities on LJ. The decline of BBT and the persistence of Sheldon/Amy and Leonard/Penny (sometimes at the cost of believable character development for any/all of them) has really put a damper on spirits here too. It's sad that it's happened, but my co-mods and I have finally come to accept that we can't do anything about it.
