I found it interesting that when faced with the urge to hug Amy, Sheldon counted to 3 and then it went away. Pretty sure he's hugged Penny on more than one occasion...
but anyway otherwise it was a normal episode of the "everyone is mean to Penny and she needs better friends" show
As a Shenny shipper, the kiss scene broke my heart. But as a HUGE Jim's fan, I couldn't stop thinking how hot HE was. He's incredible sexy. The Lenny scenes - not worth mentioning!
I think that's what has me, a romantic shenny, so sour. Sheldon is was passionate about everything he does (save this thing with Amy) and to see his first dabble into intimacy to be anything BUT passionate is a damn shame. It could have been spectacular with the right person ::coughPENNYcough::
My deal is that it seems like the shamys have forgotten the entire episode leading up to that point. Sheldon's entire conversation with Amy about the status of their relationship?...forgotten. Do the words "flaky" "Gollum" and "separate rooms" mean anything to them? Sheldon views the romantic aspect of the shamy a joke and felt pushed and manipulated. Gosh that must be how soul mates see each other...its love -_-
Frankly, if Sheldon doesn't have a romantic pairing with anyone Id be ok. I just miss Sheldon and Penny as they were before all this crap. I don't want tbtp touching romantic Shenny with a 10ft pole. If the last few seasons are proof of anything, they'd just muck it up too.
RL stuff has been messing with my LJ time for the past few weeks, which is why I haven't commented on the last three new episodes, or more, but I do have some belated reactions to share.
1) I'm still clinging onto Sheldon's comments from the forced vacation episode, about Penny and he both being dreamers who want to give 100% to the things they really care about (even if Penny dealt with her discomfort over that level of intimacy at the moment by talking about the need to crack the window the next time she leaves Sheldon in her car for any amount of time).
2) Whatever else can be said about the depiction of the Shamy and Lenny relationships in this week's episode, it's pretty clear that the majority of the commitment and pretty much all of the 'dreaming' in those two relationships continues to come from Amy and Leonard, rather than Sheldon and Penny
( ... )
So glad I read that comment of yours. I can't bring myself to fully watch the episodes and so that fillied me in on the details pretty nicely. I don't know what to say, other than that no you're not the only one, definitely not. And I'm just super glad that Shelly was so hot-looking in that kiss cause it only further proves my belief that a Shenny kiss could never be anything less than explosive-reagrdless of it actually happening or not (as I said we're both humming the same tune here.).
I am very fond of how much thought you put into your responses, and the box of chocolates thing was pretty awesome.
I sort of wondered if she'd picked up the flowers at the gas station as well, but then I realised I didn't know if that was a thing in the US, to sell flowers at the gas station? Petrol station flowers are certainly available in Australia, but not ideally.
