I loved this episode.

I loved the puns, the geekery, the cake, Sheldon hugging Leonard, pretty much every one of Penny's lines, Raj in a t-shirt and jeans (and also the apron was pretty adorable), and just the general everything. Sheldon's line to Amy about their non-existent physical relationship made me giggle, and Penny's 'That's your propose face!' made me literally scream with laughter.

The 'message' that sitting round watching movies is a waste of time was pretty stupid considering that that's hardly all Sheldon or any of them have done with their lives, so I'm writing that off as one of the showrunners attempting to take the piss out of geeks again and move on.

The 'message' that sitting round watching movies is a waste of timeIt reminds me of the John Lennon quote (or at least, what I've seen on tumblr being attributed to him), "Time you enjoyed wasting was not time wasted." (Not to mention the slippery slope, of what media is worthwhile. I have plenty of friends who would consider the fact that I went home and watched BBT a waste of time - surely there was a happy hour somewhere I could have gone to ( ... )

I was just like fine maybe I will stop watching your stupid show, Lorre, jeez.

I wasn't sure if the YouTube flashback was meant to be an episode of his show or a more recent show; the snark about whoever was writing his lines made me think it was his show, but you're right, I can't see that lasting long for kids. Maybe a small proportion of particularly jaded teenagers.

The Star Wars puns were awesome; I got them all and I haven't even had Sheldon make me sit through the movies (which is what I assume happened to Penny).

And yes, what's continuity? Although maybe she wasn't counting that because it wasn't someone she'd actually ever had any personal contact with.
