So just before I left home for six more weeks at work, I found myself thinking 'Oh god, what if Boss A is not there when I get there? How will I ever manage to do [this two-week project] with Boss R instead?'. And on the train I texted Boss A to ask how her journey was going and what time was she getting in, maybe a taxi share would work out? And she replied that her journey was going ok, but umm actually she was travelling to Other Site because Boss S of Other Site was on really quite necessary medical leave and, umm, she didn't think there was anyone to cover her. Have fun

Aww, nooooooo! :( Hate work crises. But you sound like you're handling it all admirably, so you should reward yourself for that.
I am mostly ok (barring wildly varying moods, family issues and approaching mid-life crisis) and I still have a job too! Even though I have to do lots of commuting and I'm significantly poorer than I used to be as a result. But the walking is good for me, and the train journey turns out to be really good for writing. And I haven't punched anyone in the face yet either, although I can think of some prime candidates...

Maybe your house feels it needs to keep the same number of inhabitants at all times, so simply replaced the missing one with somebody else.
