Oh, hello 2007

Feb 24, 2007 19:28

I have been terribly remiss - no LJ updates since 2006! That's got to be the worst effort I've ever had...normally there's at least a short update shortly after the new year. Bad shelie.

So. News and updates and things.

I'm in Melbourne. I have had two weeks of classes so far and I'm loving my course. If any of you don't mind volunteering, I ( Read more... )

Just keep the email address in your profile updated... LJ has this nice 'nudge' ability now... ;-)

Thanks, and thanks...and thanks ;)

I need to get a project finished and a few other things sorted out but then I'll be in touch. Cheers :)

doesnt your university have a gym? they are usually cheaper than private ones.

Riding a bike rather than using trams might be cheaper and help with the fitness - the police here do regular "lost bikes" sales where you can pick one up cheaply - I doubt Vic is any different.

Uh, I have a bike, as mentioned. It just isn't fit to ride at the moment - needs air and some grease. Also mentioned already, is the fact that I'm not fit, but intend to start riding to classes once I'm fitter. At the moment I would arrive at class too dead from the ride to do any study - so until then, I'll keep riding the tram to class. But getting the bike fixed up will not cost much, and I can start using it on the trails mentioned to start getting the fitness improved.

I was thinking more of short rides - like to the local shops ...

I think being a mutt is possibly more interesting :p

What is your preference? Do you think the time zones will align such that we can use a chat service, or shall I just email you?

It would be great if nin_wife is also willing to participate, as then I can do you as a couple (something I'll do a lot of as a professional) and get both sides of the families. In which case, emailing both of you would probably work best.

You can reach me with my UF nick at the UF domain.

Heh, no worries :)

I need to get a group project finished up and a few other things done, but I will likely be in touch in the next few days.

Thanks again. And of course, at any point you are free to withdraw your offer :)

Ooh, your flat looks nice. I like how bright and colorful the kitchen is. Also, your desk is totally from IKEA.

If you want to draw up a pedigree on my family, I am willing. I think I know enough details to make it worthwhile...maybe...

*tries to remember* I don't think it is, I think we bought it all in one piece from a local furniture place back in 1997. And looking at the joints, it definitely isn't self-constructed/constructable, so it can't be Ikea.

The black books shelf is, though. Ikea in England, too - and over 15 years old.

I'll keep an eye out for you on AIM, as it'll be easier to do a pedigree live. Cheers! :)

Oh, I guess I just recognize the little thing to the left of the computer desk, that has a desktop tower in it. That definitely looks like IKEA.

And you'd be right. My old flatmate Jarvis bought it before she got her decent desk, and when I left she said I could take it, since I was getting rid of my big desk (because it was falling apart) and would be using this small one again. It's awesome and saves me so much space.
