You don't even want to know how much I paid when my phone broke in half. At least I have my sim card if anything ever happens to my phone, I can get it transferred. I think I can also get my address book on the website

My advice- if you want a new cell phone right away...

tell them that you need a phone, but that you refuse to pay almost $200 for it when you have been such a loyal customer. It is $150 if you cancel your account amd switch to another carrier, and you can get a deal on a new phone when you switch. So that works out better.

If you tell them you are going to another carrier, I bet they would give you the credit now just to keep you from leaving.

I've broken many phones before, and it worked out well for me :-)

If my credit wasn't so fucked up I would definitely do that next time I lose my phone. (I'm seriously about to start a betting ring on how long I can go before losing my next phone.)

I did end up getting a new phone, just because they decided to overlook the contract part. But thanks for this advice, I'll definitely keep it in mind for next time, because I'm sure I'll break my phone again!

Awww... so sorry.

I just switched to Verizon this week and got a new phone. But I miss the old one. Even though it was a piece of crap.
