Today I was reminded of why I hate being outdoors in the summer. I was walking some trash from my car to the trash can on the side of our house and I was attacked by two wasps! They didn't sting me or anything, but it's just the fact that they were flying around me and chasing me, and I'm running around like a crazy person trying to get them away ( Read more... )

psh! get an oil change! I would not pay $400-something for little piddly things that Honda says should be done in order to maintain your car. That's just crazy talk. I have a 98' Volkswagen and all she gets is oil changes and the occasional work when need be and she hasn't done me wrong yet.

What kind of stuff are they saying you need? I can understand an oil change, a tune-up, checking the fluids, but I can't see how that equals $400-something. They are CRAZY!

I HATE INSECTS TOO! That's my only real complaint about the summer. I hate insects. I hate spiders. I hate flies. I hate bees. I hate wasps. I HATE MOSQUITOS!!!! omg!!!!!

From what I hear, dealerships love to overcharge and rip you off. I only know a little about cars, but if it only has a little over 30,000 miles on it, then an oil change is probably all that is necessary.

Ew, wasps. Yay for living in a desert!

I'm totally scared of bees, wasps, and hornets. I got sick once as a child right after being stung by a bee, and someone told me years later that that meant the next time I got stung I could go in anaphylactic shock. And I didn't get that checked out for about 7 years, so I was kinda convinced that whole time that bee stings could be lethal. Finally, when I was pregnant I looked into it, and it turns out I am most likely not allergic to bee stings. But, my psyche still firmly believes bees = death. So, yeah, I'm a scaredycat.

Ever since I saw Macaulay Culkin's character die from a bee sting in My Girl I've always been afraid that if I got stung by a bee, it would mean death, even though I'm pretty sure I'm not allergic to them.

Agggh! I ALSO love the Stephanie Plum series and have read that the next one is a lot more suspenseful than the other ones.

The one I got today is the paperback of #11, which came out last year in hardback, which I never read. I heard #12 just came out. Have you read either of those 2 yet?

I've read #11 and it's very good; I won't give anything away, but she really changes it up so it's not the same old same old. I'll probably get #12 next month for my birthday.

Oh, I just read #11 this week! I've had it in hardback for awhile, but it went missing and I've just retrieved it. I loved it.

Get an oil change at like Jiffy Lube or something and they can make some reccommendations. Or take it to a neighborhood mechanic, you'll at least get a better price. Do you own or lease?

I own. Thanks for the suggestion about Jiffy Lube, I think I'll do that.
