Unfortunately The Hobbit isn’t coming along as well as planned and may never happen at all.

I wonder how much of this is actually fact?

If New Line owes the Tolkien heirs money, that is truly a terrible thing.

Don't worry, this is taken from stuff at the time of the San Diego Comic Con. But last week, Ian McKellen, was deffo sure it was going ahead. I trust him!

That article is from July, and I think things have changed since then. The script has apparently been handed in, the project green lighted, and Ian McKellen said a few days ago that Bilbo has been cast and they will be starting filming in March. So I'm hopeful everything will be okay (as long as TC isn't cast as Bilbo!!!)
