Just so that there is no misunderstanding I copied an pasted some comments from my Facebook:
Joseph Hutch: OK, that's pretty cool. but, what are the possible repercussions of having hundreds of these HAL units out in the wild granting superhuman strength? The HAL eyes over the fire extinguishers in Japan are creepy enough as it is. I don't need them watching over as these exoskeletons start to seek revenge on their human overlords.
Shelley Rounds: So true, so true. There is always a bad side to the good. The article I read a few years back suggested military applications. Actually, it seems like most new gadget or concept is applied to the military before it's used by the general public. The day my job is no longer needed will be a very happy day. By the way, according to the article, one of the places developing an exoskeleton is right in Salt Lake City.
