yeah. my resentment (why call it anything nice) is due to going too long knowing just that about a person. like they arent overt with any other aspects of their identity.

In class we were talking about why Christians are obessed with the medium of the autobiography in contrast with other faiths and I brought up the Popes and got like 3 scowls and that's when I realized I was all shitted up by my upbringing (Apparently it all goes back to St. Agustine's Confessions) lol. I think there are two camps that both piss me off equally. The random statements of religious identity that can do nothing but serve to set the speaker apart in the way you mentioned, or the ones that think that anything written from a religious perspective is suspect (and okay, it is) and should be thrown out immediately, because you know, this shit starts wars, and war's bad mmmkay.

dude i totally became athiest after reading st. augustine (except in my case it was city of god). i think his past as a party dude makes him know exactly how to piss me off.

i dont get it... why cant you bring up the concept of popeapalooza if youre talking about the christian obsession with autobiography. and lives of the saints. and whatever the heathen christians who arent catholic read.
