A woman's work...

It seems as though a woman's work (or in my case, the woman who is home for the summer from school) is never quite done. I decided to go on a cleaning rampage but I'm not really sure if I'll ever be done. It just seems like the minute I clean something, it gets dirty when I'm not looking. This makes cleaning seem... unfulfilling, especially since ( Read more... )

It's a never-ending cycle, isn't it? Especially with husbands and dogs to make sure the clean doesn't last for long. I swear one of these days I'm going to shave Ripley bald so she doesn't shed

Let me know if you want help with curtains. I think I made all the ones in our house save two rooms. My sewing machine is now actually accessible and I even used it last night to fix a pair of Nate's jeans!

Yes, the dogs and the husbands make it virtually impossible to keep anything near clean for more than two nanoseconds. Bernie has been threatened to shape up his shedding or get shaved. Has it worked? Not really. Oh and my favorite, Chris has taken it upon himself to leave dirty socks in the living room. One of his former roommates warned me about this a long time ago. He didn't do this before we had a house. It's very puzzling.

Thanks for the offer on the curtains. I have searched my favorite store, Target, for something that would work. Everything there is... not quite what I had in mind. For our dining room, I'd like some cafe curtains (maybe a smidge longer than that)that are your basic tab top variety. I'm stumped about where to find good fabric though. Any ideas?

Hancocks has a better selection of drapery fabrics and usually have some pretty decent pieces on their remnant table. JoAnns is good for crafty type fabrics but their decorator fabrics are pretty sparse. Are you doing anything tonight?

Not really... I just finished making dinner (and eating it). I'm basically here to help our dishwasher (my dad) and the painter (Chris). What's going on?
