simple. they think canadians are dumb and will pay that much at the pumps without explanation. and they're right.

It's become IN-sane tho, I agree, but I don't complain. I've discovered an unreliable source of free fuel (gasoline OR diesel), and I still pay about 1.05$/L for diesel, which is expensive, but bearable, my car gets decent fuel kilometerage.
