I could not honestly say that I had a bad day today. Nothing overtly terrible happened, besides all the merciless teasing during lunch (are you guys going to laugh about that all year?) and even that was entertaining in its own special way. Far more accurate a statement is that today was blah. Just blah. By the end of second period I was twitching ( Read more... )

You have only 3 French books so far? It gets up to 4-5 later on, but most are hardly used, so you don't need to have them with you most of the time.

And I feel very sorry for you for having Vader Ark. That class is truly snooze-worthy. At least you only have to deal with it for one semester and can avoid the dreaded banned books unit. I swear, the only book on that list where nobody got raped was Huckleberry Finn. Ugh!

What were the other ones? I quite like banned books usually, but not all of them have rape in them. You must have had a truly traumatic list.

Three textbooks? That's outrageous.

I hate Algebra, so you're not alone. My math class this year, Geometry, should be quite excruciating, too, though. *sigh*

Wait...we only get Geometry as Sophomores. Did you skip a math grade?

I just read your entry, and I must say, your school sounds positively delightful. Starting out with Voltaire and Descartes quotes is too awesome for words, even if your Latin class is horrendous. I need to move there...

You think three textbooks is bad? We started with 4 or 5 textbooks, and got another one later in the year. And Madame kept saying we had to bring them every day even though we rarely used them. And when we did use them she was angry at people who didn't bring them. So yeah... poor backs.

My first block class (anthropology) has 5 textbooks, but fortunately, since it's college and the professor's not an idiot we only need to bring the books that we are discussing that day, so the ones we read the night before. That can still be three books, but at least none of them are hardcover.
