So. The Reaper was making an appearance.

Cerceus stretched out on the grass, tail flexing, fins dragging through the water as his stomach strained toward the sky. As usual, the creature hadn't really SAID anything... it was amazing how he could do nothing but chuckle evilly into the crows and there would be a dozen people, all of whom really should know better, tripping over each other to get his attention. Cy wasn't one of those. He waited, and he listened, but he wasn't about to bite that worm.

Of course, now he had the stupid SONG stuck in his head. It needled at him until he gave up and fetched his guitar from its hiding place. He picked out the tune on it slowly, humming along with it, until he found the rhythm. "Don't go transmitting," he told his crow pointedly, and it squawked and fluttered its wings before turning its back on him in a huff. That done, he began to sing along softly.

"I see a red door and I want it painted black
No colors anymore I want them to turn black
I see the girls walk by dressed in their summer clothes
I have to turn my head until my darkness goes
I see a line of cars and theyre all painted black
With flowers and my love both never to come back
I see people turn their heads and quickly look away
Like a new born baby it just happens evry day
I look inside myself and see my heart is black
I see my red door and it has been painted black
Maybe then Ill fade away and not have to face the facts
Its not easy facin up when your whole world is black..."

His voice was gravelly, intense, sensual... the same style as modern rock stars from his time, but ten times better. After all, singing was sort of the merfolk schtick. Besides, he actually DID like this song... it was a classic. Right up there with Don't Fear the Reaper.

Maybe he'd do that one next.
