I am very much a dog person now, but grew up in a cat household. I had a Siamese older than I was ... in 1985 or so, he was a good 15 years old already but despite being half blind and missing teeth, did not take it easy in his old age ... he shredded a 3 year old Rottweiler in the prime of his life, ripped the rottweiler's face up.
A year or so later, my family moved out 'into the country.' A coyote started showing up around our back deck, eating the cat food ... he was quite friendly, did not try to bite. One day, I woke up and found my cat on the back deck with the coyote, both coyote and cat asleep, my cat resting his head on the coyote's side!
