Repost! (Of neat LJ functions I am probably never going to use.)

LJ has a nice properly working repost button now. It is somewhere similar to tumblr's reblog function. You click it and it automatically reposts the entry into your journal. If someone wants to comment on the entry he will be redirected to the original entry and won't be able to comment on your repost of it. The main difference to tumblr, and one ( Read more... )

Wow, that's a really cool new function, though, like you said we're probably never going to use it.

Probably. On tumblr it is sometimes more practical to reblog a post when answering to it, since the reply function has a very small word limit. But, here it is not only impossible but also pointless.

Though, I can think of several uses in fandom conext for people with larger f-pages for things like advertisement of memes, fanfiction fests and other fandom activities by just reposting the original entry, without the need to embed links and codes by yourself.

The entry said something about how not all the reposts will be visible on your friends page, but only the last one, though since they are still working on that I didn't deem that information as relevant. And, seeing as we are not part of many Russian communities (or any Russian communities at all, in your case) and this post was so far made for Russian speaking users only, I don't fear our f-pages being overrun by reposts.
