I need to buy a good multimeter and find my electronics soldering equipment. And figure out how to clean off the icky panels. Many of the old-school electronics repairmen recommend throwing the electronic panels *in the dishwasher* to clean them off! WTF?!? And then I have to deal with the monitor, too. O_o;;

I have never figured out how to get my multimeter working. The instructions are strange and cryptic and written for about five seperate models.

. . . Though I love how blasé we've become about electronics. When I was a wee geek circuit boards were treated like holy virgin princesses and you had to ritually clense yourself of static before approaching the inner sanctum of a machine. Now, y'know, dishwashers.

I'm still supposed to cleanse the monitor of static before I work on it. But that's not so I won't kill it... that's so it won't kill me.
