Oh my lord, cheese. i was perpetually surprised how little actual real cheese (ie, not American processed 'cheese') there was about the place in the US. Bleagh. (For comparison, I buy my camembert, brie, double gloucester, vintage cheddar (and the colby cheddar I use as a cooking/everyday cheese) and so on at the local chain supermarket, which also sells fresh feta, bocconcini, mozzarella, sometimes gruyere, and so on - and this isn't unusual for a major chain supermarket!)
