I can't.....deal with this.

Has anyone found any way, at all, to get a message out? I've got a daughter out there...I missed Christmas...and she started her junior year and...

I don't care if I can't get out. I just need to know my daughter's okay.

Unfortunately, there isn't. Otherwise I'd have contacted my daughter months ago, so I know how you feel. It's been nearly a year for me.

I had almost lost her, too... How can I know that she's fully recovered? She does have Sarah, but... It's too much.

Unfortunately, there's not a whole lot you can do. Not around here, anyway. I've tried locating any exits and they're all blocked off. This city has become a near-complete dead zone and we're totally blocked off from outside contact.

If your daughter's not here, or anywhere near here, all you can do is hope. Just try to stay alive long enough to see her again. That's what keeps me going.

Being separated from your child is never easy, I know.

After how much I've been through with her and...nearly losing her more than once...I just...

She's not alone, though. I at least have that. My sister was there when I left. And a lot of good friends and....a house...that can help take care of her. I just don't want anyone thinking I just abandoned her.

I don't think so... if they had someone probably woulda gotten excited and told the island of it.

And... are you sure this is your own world... I mean, a lot of people here are from 'Earth' but the rules seem to vary for each of them...

It HAS to be the same world.... It...just has to be.

If you think about it... it'd be better if it wasn't... right?

I mean, we have a giant monster living with us... and no aid.

Which means either the world is like this island, the world has given up on this island, or the world is worse than this island.

I don't like any of those ideas for my home.

......

The government I'm used to would be willing to quarantine and condemn a whole island, even if it WAS Manhattan. They....don't take chances.

For all I know, someone's released some ungodly brain eating parasites or mishandled another destroy the world machine and I wasn't there to stop it! For all I know, Zoe and Allison and everyone are GONE!

Your daughter...

I.

I'm sorry. I don't know at all. But I know how you feel, I. I spent a long time here not knowing how mine was doing at all. And she was only three.

......

....three? I'm....so sorry.

Zoe's 17...and she does have Sarah...and when I left, Lexi was there..and everyone else but...she's my daughter.

I'm still working on that...

I know it isn't much, but there is a chance that if we got back, we'd be sent back to the exact moment we left.

I'm not that lucky...

Everyone keeps saying we're in another dimension. What if it's just a one-way door? What if...we do get sent back to our homes, but in THIS dimension and not our own? Or we get hurled into another time all together? Or some sort of paradox rips everything apart?

Sounds like you're talking about these things from experience.

What branch of government do you belong to?

Department of Justice. Well...I was. As a US Mashall...then as a sheriff... You know, the details aren't important. A lot of involvement with the Department of Defense.

...they're not involved with this mess, are they?
