Oh, no! Stuck again trying to find tags!

So when I hit "Post new entry" I get a screen with a pencil at the top, "friends feed" "shop" and then on the right side "sherlock999." In the middle it has a place for me to write a title and the entry itself. But I a place to choose a community. If this helps, the url here is "livejournal.com/post."

Have I tried to post the wrong way? I have ( Read more... )

yeah that's the new post editor.

1. to select your community d'jour on that one, first go down to the blue button on the right that says "tune in and publish" and hit the arrow.

2. you'll get a little menu. at the top of the little menu it says "WHERE sherlock999" with a little edit icon next to your name. Click the edit icon to select "to community", then choose your community of choice using the drop-down menu and hit "save".

3. click anywhere on the post editor screen to get out of the little menu and get back to post editing.

4. at the bottom of the post editor, there is the tags entry box that says: "Start writing tags, separated by commas, each new or select from list"

5. click on "list" to see and select the community's tags.

there's also a link at the bottom of the screen to the old post editor if you prefer to use that.

I was writing a long reply, and the computer ate it. Bah. I'm trying again.

First, thank you so much! I never would have figured out how to find the tags or how to publish to a community. Man, this site is really, really hard, although it will work for us for the time being. At least I feel connected to y'all!

but I have questions. Here goes:
1. I found the group tags. Are they there just for one entry, the one I'm writing, or for all entries until you change where entries go?
2. When you "set" journal or community, does that stay for the following entries or only last for that one entry?
3. I'm missing some tags I made when I was apparently writing in the journal. Any idea what happened?

I think that's all for now. I really want to apologize....I'm truly NOT good at figuring out websites, and I can only imagine the pressure on you that comes from answering everyone's questions!
