He practically doesn't have one of his own, so he steals them for a while then gives them back after a while so the person keeps living.
John gives him his heart after figuring it out. Sherlock, never having had someone give him one before, gives it back at night when he's sleeping only for John to give it back in the morning.
The thing about shared hearts is they keep growing bigger...
OP <3 you so much! Re: fill: anywhere i go you go (3b/3)

That was, in no way, shape or form, raggedy. It was cool, edgy and warm and squeal-inducing.
I love the way you played it literal and metaphysical back and forth with the hearts- you could easily used personal objects or something else instead, and instead its, ungh, and then the shared eating/taking of the heart was so cool/awesome and yet scary-primitive! (Sorry, using too many slashes and hyphens.) And the line where John straddles Sherlock. For some damn reason the 'straddled, saddled' tickles me especially pink.
Aah, there's so much awesome in this fic! >flails happily< I'm gonna read it again and again, and be back to praise you some more if I'm not dead of squee for very long.

It isn't manipulation if you always give it back. Oh, Sherlock.
