Sherlock is way older than John (anywhere from 10 or more years older).They're living together and dating.

Mycroft doesn't approve of the relationship. He thinks that John is too young for his brother and will eventually leave him because the age difference between them is to large or John will want someone younger. As well, he thinks that because John will only cause trouble.
